The Volusia Sheriff’s Office is investigating two separate shootings that occurred overnight on the south end of the county late Saturday evening into early Sunday morning. One of the cases is currently attached to a $10,000 reward. The first of the two incidents occurred a bit before midnight in Deltona. A resident of Kings Ridge Terrace said he’d been outside his house when an assailant came up to him and pulled a gun. The man was said to have gone back inside his home, at which point a second suspect reportedly fired a shot toward the building from the street. Both suspects are then said to have left the scene. Thankfully, no one was injured in this shooting. The second incident reportedly happened at approximately 12:33 am in DeLand. A shooting was said to have broken out at 1757 N Woodland Blvd, while cars were driving through the area. A bullet apparently went into a passing vehicle, where it grazed the head of a 16-year-old boy inside. The boy and his family had been driving home from a graduation party. The victim received treatment for his injuries and is, fortunately, expected to make a full recovery. Anyone with information that may aid detectives in either one of these cases is asked to contact Detective Justin Ferrari by emailing JFerrari@volusiasheriff.gov or by calling (386) 254-1537.
