Volusia Sheriff Says Man Stopped As Suspect Will Speak During Training

Deltona, FL – Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood says a Deltona man stopped last week because deputies say he fit the description of the suspect in a residential burglary is someone he would hire.   Joseph Griffin is a military veteran and a medical professional. He will talk about the incident from his perspective during implicit bias training with the VSO. Chitwood said his deputies kept a live video running for Griffin during the incident. He also said the deputies understood what it meant to Mr. Griffin, who was going out of his way to be cooperative and respectful.
