Volusia County Affordable Housing Webinars Continue

DeLand, FL – Tomorrow (July 9) the second installment of five of the Volusia County Council’s Affordable Housing Initiative’s webinar series on the subject will be live from noon until 1:30 p.m. Volusia County Affordable Housing Initiative Launches This Week Volusia County Community Information Specialist Pat Kuehn said that 50 people took part in the first installment and 50 are signed up for tomorrow but she says they are hoping to engage more people. "It’s going to require the support and input from the entire community and any other agencies. We welcome them to come on board with us." Kuehn says that like counties and cities across the country, affordable housing is becoming an increasing problem that needs to be addressed.  "The goal is to look at the issue as a whole and how to promote homes for all incomes. It all has to do with wages and housing prices." An Affordable Housing Summit is scheduled for August 27, 2021, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m.  An Affordable Housing Action Plan should be assembled by December.
