DeLand, FL - The Volusia County School District announces that the U.S. Department of Agriculture will extend their free meal program until December 18th. Starting on Wednesday (September 9th), all children 18 or younger, regardless of enrollment status, will receive their breakfast and lunch at no charge. A free, weekly curbside meal service will also be provided for children not attending in-person classes starting on September 15th. Additionally, most schools will offer the weekly curbside meal service for children age 18 and younger who are not attending in-person classes. This includes students in virtual classes who are not attending in-person classes. Meals must be picked up each Tuesday morning from 6:30 to 7:30. Students with Manatee Cove Elementary, Timbercrest Elementary and Turie T. Small Elementary must pick up at River Springs Middle, Galaxy Middle, and Campbell Middle, respectively. Registration for curbside meals must also be completed weekly between 8 a.m. Tuesday and 11:59 p.m. Thursday for the following Tuesday’s pickup. You can register by clicking here. Students attending Ivy Hawn, Richard Milburn Academy West, Richard Milburn Academy East, and AMI Kids will pay for meals based on their current eligibility.
