Daytona Beach, FL - The search continues today for a 27-year-old Ocala man who went missing after being caught in a rip current yesterday (October 24) afternoon in Daytona Beach. Volusia County Beach Safety Captain Tammy Malphurs says the man and other family members got caught in the rip current around 12:30 p.m. about two miles north of Mason Avenue. Everyone made it back to shore safely except for the 27-year-old man. Beach Safety searched extensively, with numerous lifeguards, two rescue jet ski’s, Air One, and a drone. The search is underway again this morning. Check back with us for updates.
