DeLand, FL – Today’s Volusia County School Board meeting saw the swearing-in of newly elected member Anita Burnette, District 2 representative, and re-elected without opposition member Carl Persis, District 4 representative. Both members begin four-year terms. As the meeting was for organizational purposes, School Board District 3 Member Linda Cuthbert was elected Chair of the board, and School Board District 1 Member Jamie Haynes was elected Vice-Chair. The chair and vice-chair serve one year in the leadership positions.
