Teen Charged In Shooting Of Relative

DeLand, FL – A teen is now charged after shooting a relative following an argument. The Volusia Sheriff’s Office says Jacob Real was arrested on Friday (April 8) without incident. Deputies believe he and the victim came home after work and began to argue. The argument started outside and made its way inside—where they shoved each other—before coming back outside to the driveway. That’s when Real shot the victim. When deputies arrived they found the victim lying in the driveway with a single gunshot wound. He was airlifted to the hospital with critical injuries, but is expected to survive. Real is now charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm by a minor. He was taken to the Department of Juvenile Justice.
