An arrest warrant has been issued in connection to the December 2nd shooting death of a DeLand resident, the Volusia Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday. 36-year-old Joel Alonzo-Cisneros is wanted for the killing of 50-year-old Hector Hernandez-Pasquale. As of the most recent release, the VSO does not have a definite location on Alonzo-Cisnero, and are asking for community assistance to determine his whereabouts. Those who may have information on where Alonzo-Cisneros is are asked to contact the VSO at (386) 248-1777, or Crime Stoppers of Northeast Florida at (888) 277-TIPS. The incident occurred on 10:45 pm on December 2nd, when a 911 call was placed to S. Massachusetts Ave in DeLand. Responding deputies found Pasquale lying on the ground shot, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. Little information was released about the shooting at the time, and the naming of Alonzo-Cisneros as a suspect is the first major breakthrough since the shooting occurred.
