Suspect Charged In Random Orange City Stabbing

Orange City, FL – Orange City Police investigators identify 22-year-old Nathaniel Peoples as the person who slashed a 15-year-old boy across the face last Saturday (October 10) in Orange City Teen’s Face Slashed In Apparent Random Attack  Reviewing video surveillance, conducting door-to-door neighborhood checks, and talking to possible witnesses led the investigators to Peoples. Peoples was arrested last night (October 13) at his home in DeLand. Orange City detectives, with assistance from the Volusia Sheriff’s Office deputies, made contact with Peoples at his home on Halstead Street. He was taken into custody without incident. Peoples is being held without bond on a charge of Aggravated Battery. He’s currently on pre-trial release in a domestic violence case.  Orange City Police say this is still an active investigation.
