The man charged for a shooting at South Turn Sports Bar & Grill last year has been convicted of two counts of attempted second-degree murder with a firearm. 29-year-old Anthony Kaznakoff was found guilty at the conclusion of a three-day trial presided over by Circuit Judge Elizabeth Blackburn. The shooting occurred on June 20, 2025 at South Turn in Daytona Beach. Kaznakoff was said to have become ‘belligerent’ while drinking at the bar and was asked to leave. He later came back, looking to continue a dispute he had with another patron. Kaznakoff was again asked to leave the premises. This time, he was less than cooperative. Kaznakoff was said to have fired 17 rounds from a handgun in the direction of the bar. Three people were hit by the gunfire, but thankfully no one was killed. After initially driving away from South Turn, Kaznakoff was promptly identified by law enforcement. He turned himself in, and was booked into jail the day after the shooting. Kaznakoff has remained in custody at the Volusia County Branch Jail ever since. One of the three victims who was hit in the shooting reportedly dealt with anxiety during Kaznakoff’s prosecution, leading to one of three initial attempted second-degree murder charges being dropped. He was convicted of the other two, however, and now faces a maximum of life in prison. “Thank God no one died as a result of the defendant’s malicious and deliberate actions,” said State Attorney R.J. Larizza. “It is beyond disgusting that he resorted to deadly force just because he was insulted. Life sentences for his crimes are a no-brainer.”
