Incumbent congressman Randy Fine won re-election on Tuesday, sealing his first full two-year term in office. A Republican, Fine defeated Democratic challenger Eric Yonce. As of late Wednesday morning, with 99% of the vote counted, Fine was listed at 58.95% to Yonce’s 39.93%. “I am humbled and grateful for the overwhelming support from the people of Volusia, Flagler, St. Johns, Lake, Marion, and Putnam counties, particularly after weathering $20 million in attacks against me over the past two years, including the most expensive hard-money election of the cycle and the most expensive Republican primary survived by the incumbent,” Fine posted after his race was called. Florida’s 6th congressional district represents all of Flagler and Putnam, plus portions of Lake, Marion, St. Johns, and Volusia counties. With over 830,000 voters, FL-6 has been reliably red for years but experienced an unexpectedly competitive special election in 2025. Fine won that contest despite being out-raised significantly by Democrat Josh Weil. According to The Associated Press, Fine garnered more votes than Yonce in all six of the district’s counties. He had his highest margin in Putnam County, winning by over 35 points. Volusia was the closest, with Fine outperforming Yonce by just 5.2%. After his win, Fine renewed his commitment to combat “the rising threat of communism and Islamization”. A devout Jew, Fine has been outspokenly anti-Islam during his congressional career. He has embraced the label ‘Islamophobe’, and his comments even caused him to lose the endorsement of Volusia Sheriff Mike Chitwood. “Do not lose hope. We are building something. This takes time,” Eric Yonce posted after the results came in. “Now we must hold those elected accountable, on both sides of the aisle. We also need to ensure we are holding ourselves accountable as we have a lot of work to do. 2028 is just around the corner!” 2025’s special congressional election was the closest for FL-6 in the 21st century, with Fine securing 56.66% of the vote to Josh Weil’s 42.71%. His margin of victory appears to have increased by just over two percentage points this time around. Former Rep. Michael Waltz’s last FL-6 victory in 2024 saw him winning 66.53% of the vote over Democrat James Stockton III.
