Port Orange Police Arrest Driver In Pedestrian-Involved Crash

Port Orange, FL – The driver in a hit-and run crash that sent a man to the hospital with live-threatening injuries is in custody. Port Orange Police say 29-year-old Colby Roberts is charged with leaving the scene of a crash with serious bodily injury and is being held without bond. The accident happened at the intersectin of Nova Road and Dunlawton Avenue at about 8:20 p.m. yesterday (October 4). Witnesses say that the vehicle, described as a white 4 door Mercedes C-Class sedan, and driver responsible fled the scene.  An anonymous caller tipped police off this morning (October 5) that the car was parked in front of an apartment complex in South Daytona. Officers responded to find  the car to  have damage consistent with that of striking a pedestrian. The victim remains in the hospital and the investigation is ongoing.
