Orange City, FL – Volusia County deputies are investigating after a man was hit by a car not once, but twice. Preliminary evidence says Andrew Valdes was crossing Howland Boulevard outside a crosswalk late Wednesday night (Feb. 16) when he was struck by a northbound station wagon. The driver attempted to stop but struck Valdes with the front left side of his car. Then as Valdes lay in the roadway, an SUV came and also hit him. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Deputies say neither driver seemed impaired and both consented to a blood test. The investigation continues.
