Orlando Guardians XFL Quarterback Released for Allegedly Sharing Plays

ORLANDO, Fla. – Orlando Guardians Quarterback Quinten Dormady was released by the XFL team on Friday for allegedly sharing offensive plays with opposing teams in a tweet from Don Kleiman. Dormady’s statistics were promptly removed from the XFL website before being statistically reinstated the next day while the investigation continues. From 2015-2019, Dormady tried making a name for himself in college by transferring from Tennessee to Houston and then to Central Michigan over the span of five years to have quality playing time, but injuries got the better of him, leaving him undrafted after the 2020 NFL Draft. Dormady did not play an organized down of football until he was assigned to the Guardians in late 2022, later relieving starter Paxton Lynch in the fourth quarter of their week one blowout loss to the Houston Roughnecks. In Dormady’s one quarter played against Houston, he completed 12 of 18 passes for 142 yards, including a 51-yard score to Andrew Jamiel, with two interceptions. The Guardians are currently 0-3. With former NFL quarterback Paxton Lynch and former FSU QB Deondre Francois, Orlando looks to get their first win out west against the Vegas Vipers on Sunday, March 18th.
