New Smyrna Beach, FL - In continuing efforts to support businesses and services throughout the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, New Smyrna Beach city leaders approve a new grant program aimed at helping those who help homeless and disadvantaged individuals and families. The city announced on Thursday (August 27th) that commission members allocated $35,000 in funds to support non-profit organizations that provide services to homeless and disadvantaged individuals and families in the NSB area. Eligible non-profit organizations can receive up to $7,000 each. According to the application, applicants must define what services are currently being provided and what additional services will be provided with grant funds. After the application is sent in, it will be reviewed by a panel. That panel will then review and rank the applications and make recommendations to the City Commission by ranking the applications. Applications can be sent in between Friday (August 28th) and September 11th. You can find it here. The front of the envelope must state “Homeless and Disadvantaged Grant Application” and must identify the name and mailing address of the applicant. The envelope must be received no later than 3 p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2020 at the Finance Department on the 2nd floor of City Hall, 210 Sams Avenue, New Smyrna Beach, FL
