Man Convicted for Traveling to Meet Minor in Port Orange

30-year-old Harry Pierre was convicted of two criminal charges after allegedly driving to meet a minor in Port Orange. His conviction came at the end of a two-day trial in Volusia County. Pierre was arrested on March 9, 2025 on charges of traveling to meet a minor and soliciting a child or person believed to be a child for unlawful sexual conduct using computer services or devices. The case was investigated by the Port Orange Police Department in March 2025. Pierre was believed by detectives to be using the internet for inappropriate interactions with children. A detective went undercover as a 14-year-old girl on a dating app, and reportedly got in touch with Pierre. According to prosecutors, Pierre sent direct messages to the detective while thinking they were a teenage girl. Plans were made to meet for sexual activity in Port Orange, police say. Upon arrival, Pierre was taken into custody by Port Orange police officers. Records list Pierre as a resident of Riviera Beach in Palm Beach County. He has no other bookings at the Volusia County Branch Jail aside from this latest incident. Pierre’s sentencing is set for September 3, 2026 by Circuit Judge Christian Miller.
