The Daytona Beach Police Department confirmed on Monday that an arrest had been made in connection to an attempted child abduction in Daytona Beach. The incident occurred on Friday, July 11th at a business located at 2455 West International Speedway Blvd. The suspect in the abduction is 55-year-old Timmothy Hall. He was arrested in Jacksonville following an investigation that involved the DBPD, U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, and Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office. According to an initial report by the DBPD, Hall approached a child when they were with their family inside the business. He was said to have walked up, exposed his sexual organs, and tried to take the child away. When Hall grabbed the child’s arm they yelled, the DBPD said. This attracted attention from others near the incident. Hall was said to have then fled the scene. The child did not require medical attention, and was able to stay with their family. An investigation was immediately launched ‘utilizing both traditional and technological investigative methods’, the DBPD says. Once Hall was identified, an arrest warrant was obtained. It became apparent after his identification that Hall is an apparent convicted sex offender, previously charged with lewd and lascivious conduct involving a minor. He’s currently being held without bond in Jacksonville on charges of attempted kidnapping plus lewd and lascivious exhibition, both on warrants out of Volusia County.
