DeLand, FL – Florida Highway Patrol says an Orange City woman is dead after an SUV rear-ended a motorcycle Wednesday night. Investigators say the motorcycle, piloted by a 28-year-old Orange City man with a 26-year-old female passenger, was traveling westbound on Old New York Avenue just before 9:30. As the motorcycle slowed down for a turn, a 2013 Dodge Durango SUV failed to stop and struck the rear of the motorcycle. State Troopers say the woman on the motorcycle was taken to AdventHealth in DeLand, where she later died. The investigation remains active and ongoing as of this writing. There is no word on whether or not charges are pending against the SUV driver.
