Daytona Beach, FL - For the 15th year in a row, the Daytona International Speedway and OneBlood are teaming up to honor the victims of 9/11 with their "Drive to Donate" blood drive. And those who donate can score tickets to a NASCAR race. Over the course of the past 14 years, the Drive to Donate blood drive collected more than 6,000 units of blood. The event begins at 8 a.m. on Saturday (September 12th) and will run until 5 p.m. in the UNOH Fanzone at the Daytona International Speedway. Any guest that donates will also receive a general admission ticket for the 2021 Wawa 250, a free 9/11 commemorative t-shirt, and a wellness checkup that will include COVID-19 antibody testing, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, iron count, and cholesterol screening. Additionally, any donors that schedule an appointment and donate will be entered to win one of five pairs of tickets to the 2021 Busch Clash at Daytona, two Daytona 500 club tick packages for the 2021 Daytona 500 or two Daytona 500 club ticket packages for the 2021 Coke Zero Sugar 400. Donors can enter the speedway through Gate 40 and the turn 1 tunnel found off of Williamson Boulevard. You can make an appointment by visiting OneBlood’s website or by calling 1-888-9-DONATE (1-888-936-6283). According to OneBlood, generally healthy people ages 16 or older who weigh at least 110 pounds may donate. Photo ID is required.
