DeLand, FL – DeLand police say they have arrested one suspect involved in a drive-by shooting as officers continue the search for the other suspect. Officers say 19-year-old Jarvis Carr was arrested on an outstanding warrant for armed trafficking in morphine, possession of cocaine with intent to sell, possession of a firearm by a convicted in-state felon, tampering with physical evidence, and possession of narcotics paraphernalia. According to investigators, Carr is believed to have been in one of two vehicles involved in a gun battle that erupted in the early morning hours on September 30. The shooting began at a 7-Eleven convenience store on West New York Avenue before continuing north onto State Road 15A, east on US 91, and then south on North Woodland Boulevard before ending at another 7-Eleven on North Woodland. That store sustained gunfire damage to the front windows, but no injuries were reported as a result of the incident. DeLand police say so far, Carr has been uncooperative with detectives in this investigation. Police are also searching for 20-year-old Limuel Yarn III as a suspect in this case. Police say Yarn has ties to DeLand and Daytona Beach. Anyone with information on this investigation should contact the DeLand Police Department.
