DeLand, FL - During a special meeting between city commission members, the City of DeLand votes unanimously to extend its 60-day mask mandate and add a couple of new exceptions to the order. The new ordinance also removed language from the original order that referenced Volusia County adopting a county-wide mask ordinance since, as the agenda item says, "that now appears unlikely." New exceptions to the mandate include people that are hearing impaired and those speaking at organized events when able to distance by six feet or with protective barrier. Additionally, the updated mandate will require businesses to post the required signage at all entrances. The ordiance was passed unanimously.
