Some of the great Ford-affiliated drivers in modern motorsports will assemble at Daytona International Speedway on November 11 for the ‘Proud to Honor Veterand Day Classic’ organized by the Ford Motor Company. The event features live music, tailgating, and, of course, a race. Tickets are available online. “For more than a century, Ford has stood alongside the people who serve our country and the families who support them,” said Ford Executive Chair Bill Ford. “The Proud to Honor Veterans Day Classic brings together racing, music and service to create a joyful new Veterans Day tradition that honors the entire military community.” In the Veterans Day Classic race, each branch of the U.S. military will represented by a team of two drivers. The pairs will pilot Ford Mustang Dark Horse Rs, each one designed to invoke the history of their respective branch. Headlining the live music portion of the event is three-time Grammy Award winners Zac Brown Band. Other performers include Jo Dee Messina, Russell Dickerson, Brittney Spencer, and Warren Zeiders. The event will be televised on USA Network from 8:00 to 10:00 p.m. ET. Other celebrity guests include seven-time Emmy Award winner Bryan Cranston, WWE’s Braun Strowman, and Everything On The Menu host Adam Scherr. The race will run on Daytona International Speedway’s 3.56-mile road course configuration, the same route navigated annually during the Rolex 24 in late January. Each team will qualify for 15 minutes and then compete for a 30-minute sprint race, bringing together motorsports icons from a diverse array of backgrounds.
