Deltona, FL – Deltona residents in need of money for college can now apply for a scholarship named after one of the city’s former commissioners and vice mayor. It’s known as the William S. Harvey Scholarship, which bears the name of former commissioner and Vice Mayor William Harvey, who retired in Deltona in 1993 after serving three terms in the Virgin Islands Legislature. In 1999, Harvey was elected to the Deltona City Commission, and served until 2007, when he was appointed the vice mayor of the city.
