DeLand, FL – An absconded sexual predator from Volusia County who cut off their ankle monitor is now in the hands of North Carolina law enforcement. The Volusia Sheriff’s Office (VSO) says 56-year-old Donald Talbert was arrested on Friday (Nov. 5) at a hotel in North Carolina and now awaits extradition back to Volusia. According to the VSO, Talbert made suicidal statements via text to a friend and said he would cut off his ankle monitor. Deputies announced the search for Talbert on Thursday (Nov. 4). No other details are available at this time, per VSO.
