Daytona Beach, FL - The hunt for Daytona Beach’s next city manager could move a step forward after Wednesday night’s (October 21st) meeting. At that meeting, city leaders are set to discuss a contract with a firm to begin an executive search for the city’s next manager. The search for a firm began in late July with proposals due back to the city by August 21st. Nine vendors returned proposals to the city, meaning city leaders had to then figure out which one was more feasible. The decision was then made at a September 28th workshop to hire Robert E. Slavin, Inc. as the consultant firm. Now, the next task for the city commission is to decide whether or not they want to approve a contract with the firm to begin the search. According to a copy of the contract, which was included with Wednesday’s agenda, services will cost $15,475, which was broken down hourly in a table that’s also included with the agenda. In addition to the payment breakdown, a prospective timeline was also provided. The timeline shows that, if the contract is approved, the firm will begin the process starting on October 26th, which is expected to last until November 6th. The process is expected to last until mid-February, which is when a finalist interview is scheduled to take place. The city commission’s meeting is slated to begin at 6:00 p.m. You can find a full copy of the agenda here.
