VSO Identifies Yesterday’s DeLand Fatal Shooting Victim

DeLand, FL – The victim in fatal shooting found yesterday in the Spring Hill section of DeLand is identified as 18-year-old Jamarkis Frazier.  Detectives are also investigating a drive-by shooting that happened yesterday afternoon. Two people, a 62-year-old woman and a 33-year-old man, sustained non-life-threatening injuries around 4:40 p.m. in the 1000 block of South Clara Avenue. Both incidents remain under investigation including the possibility that they may be connected. Deputies are also providing an enhanced presence in the area. At this time, there are no suspect or vehicle descriptions available. VSO says, "updates will be provided in the future as they become available."
