Palm Coast, FL – Deputies are investigating what exactly led to an explosion that rocked the P-section of Palm Coast on Thursday. The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office and the St. Johns County Bomb Squad were called to Poppy Lane after the explosion rang out around 5 a.m. As the morning moved on, school buses were diverted away from the area as the incident was investigated. The Palm Coast Fire Department and the state fire marshal also responded. The initial suspicion was that a transformer might have blown, but deputies ended up finding a hole in the ground behind 28 Poppy Lane, the home of Eric Robinson, and signs that indicate the explosion came from a man-made device. According to the FCSO, Robinson has been under house arrest since he failed his drug-offender probation. Robinson has not been charged in this incident. The explosion remains under investigation as of this morning.
