Daytona Beach, FL – American Airlines is already announcing an extension to their service from Daytona Beach to Washington DC, and this year’s service hasn’t even started yet. The airline announced the introduction of the service in late-December, adding that nonstop flights from Daytona Beach to Ronald Reagan National Airport (DCA) would be offered every Saturday throughout March. Now the service will be offered throughout April, and there’s a possibility that it will also be extended to May. “This is great news for tourism in Volusia County, and equally exciting for our residents who now can take advantage of direct flights to our nation’s capital for an extended time,” said DBIA’s Director of Air Service, Marketing and Customer Experience Joanne Magley. Magley added that route planners with American Airlines said the flights for March are already booked on average close to 50 percent. The service will be offered alongside American’s regular daily service from Daytona Beach to Charlotte. It was also in December that American Airlines said non-stop service to Dallas-Fort Worth and Philadelphia will also return. Winter service ended on January 3, but both services are expected to return on March 3 and 27, respectively. At the moment, American Airlines is the only carrier offering additional services beyond their usual routes from Daytona Beach. Delta Air Lines, the other mainstay at DBIA, continues to offer their daily nonstop service to Atlanta. Tickets for AA’s Washington DC service will go on sale Saturday (Jan. 29). Tickets can be booked at the airport, or through AA.com.
