FDOT Seeking Input On Major Mason Avenue Improvements

Daytona Beach, FL – The Florida Department of Transportation wants to figure out what needs to be done to improve Mason Avenue, and they want your input. This time FDOT will be eyeing the stretch of Mason Avenue between Clyde Morris Boulevard and Riverside Drive/Beach Street, just before the Oakridge bridge. The purpose of their study will be to figure out exactly what needs to be done to improve the “safety, operations, and connectivity for all modes of travel on the busy thoroughfare,” according to a meeting announcement from FDOT. Existing needs, existing and future regional travel needs, and input from interested stakeholders will all be documented as part of the study, along with the public’s input. To garner input from residents, FDOT will hold a public meeting on Wednesday (Jan. 19) at the Midtown Cultural & Educational Center on George Engram Boulevard between 5:30 and 7:00 p.m. There, visitors can view a looping presentation, see project displays, and talk with FDOT employees to provide questions or feedback.
