FCSO Employees Donate Over $15k For Shop With A Cop

Palm Coast, FL – Christmas for a number of Flagler County kids became a little more special as employees from the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office donated over $15,000 for the agency’s Shop with a Cop event. The overall total of donations? $15,776.83. The event is a part of the FCSO’s Flagler Sheriff’s Children’s Charities, a tax-deductible 501c3 charity established by Sheriff Rick Staly back in 2020. The goal of the event is to help children and families that are in need due to economic circumstances, domestic violence, or children that have been placed in the care of guardians so they may have some holiday cheer this year. Children are nominated for the program by members of the FCSO and staff from Flagler County Schools.  This year, the event will take place on December 10 at Walmart in Palm Coast. First, deputies and detention deputies will pick up the children from their homes before heading to the Chiumento law offices building in Town Center. From 5:00 to 6:00 p.m., children will participate in games and activities before taking a ride to Walmart, which will include an escort by the FCSO motor unit with lights and sirens. Each child will receive a gift card that they can use to purchase Christmas gifts for themselves and their family members. “I’m very proud of our team that not only serves the community every day but also gives back to our community to help build a positive relationship between children and law enforcement,” Sheriff Staly said. “I’d like to extend an additional thank you to AMVETS, Car Time Inc., Sensible Water Solutions, The Blue Knights, and other community members who’ve generously donated to this year’s Shop with a Cop too.”  “Our team is very excited about the upcoming event and we are looking forward to watching the children get into the holiday spirit.” If you would like to donate to support Shop With a Cop, you can donate online through PayPal.
