Holly Hill, FL – A man is transported to the hospital in serious condition after police say he almost drowned in a retention pond. The Holly Hill Police Department (HHPD) said officers were called to the 900 block of Alabama Avenue in reference to a drowning. When officers arrived they found EMS personnel and officers from the Ormond Beach Police Department conducting life saving efforts on a white male who was pulled from a retention pond by witnesses. After the rescue, the man was transported to AdventHealth for medical treatment. The victim’s daughter told officers they were walking together when her father fell into the water. It’s not clear at this time what caused the man to fall. Police say the victim remains in serious condition. We will pass along updates as they are made available.
