VSO Investigating Ormond Beach Woman’s Suspicious Death

Ormond Beach, FL – A well-being check on Wednesday afternoon at 62-year-old Elizabeth Crisanti’s home on Orange Grove Drive in Ormond Beach found her deceased with "sharp force injuries." Volusia Sheriff’s Office (VSO) deputies also found her boyfriend, 61-year-old Nelson Rivera, alive but unresponsive. Detectives say it appears he may have overdosed on prescription medication. The well-being check was requested by a relative after Crisanti didn’t pick up her grandchildren from school. When there was no answer at the door of Crisanti’s apartment, a relative provided a key to enter the home. Rivera was transported to AdventHealth Hospital for medical treatment and had not yet regained consciousness as of Thursday morning. A check of Volusia County Jail records show that Rivera has been there a couple of times on cocaine charges.  The investigation is active and ongoing, and additional details will be provided as they become available.
