Osteen, FL - Florida Highway Patrol says two teens are dead and two more are in the hospital after two pickup trucks collided on Osteen Maytown Road. Troopers say one truck was piloted by a 17-year-old Osteen male who had three passengers: a 19-year-old Deltona male, an 18-year-old Deltona male, and a 14-year-old Osteen male. The other truck was operated by a 50-year-old Osteen man. According to investigators, the truck driven by the 17-year-old was headed eastbound on Osteen Maytown Road west of Uranus Trail as the truck driven by the 50-year-old was headed westbound. Around 8:00 Monday night (September 13), the first truck exited a left-hand turn abruptly, causing the driver to lose control. After that, the truck entered a water-filled ditch and struck two trees before re-entering the paved highway. The truck then overturned multiple times and struck the second pickup truck. FHP says the 17-year-old driver was partially ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. The front-seat passenger, the 19-year-old male, was fully ejected and also pronounced dead at the scene. The two rear passengers were transported to the hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the other truck sustained only minor injuries and was not transported to the hospital. The crash remains under investigation.
