DeLand, FL - A 16-year-old wanted in connection to the shooting death of a 40-year-old man in DeLand has turned himself in. The DeLand Police Department (DPD) said K’Veon Asun Jiles surrendered to authorities Thursday morning (July 29) and is now in custody at the Department of Juvenile Justice in Daytona Beach. Investigators filed a warrant for Jiles just a couple of days after police found Laroyce Covington with multiple gunshot wounds on July 21. Covington was taken to the hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
