Two People From Deltona Dead In Fatal Crash

Sanford, FL – A 64-year-old man and a 57-year-old woman from Deltona are dead after a vehicle accident on I-4 early this morning (July 11). Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reports that the man was driving eastbound near S.R. 46 just before 1 a.m. when he lost control of his car, leaving the roadway, and hitting the center guardrail. The vehicle reentered the eastbound lanes where it was hit by a pickup truck.  The Deltona woman died on scene. The Deltona man later died at Central Florida Regional Hospital. The driver of the pickup truck, a 38-year-old Jacksonville man, and three passengers, were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The crash remains under investigation.
