Deltona, FL - Troopers are investigating a crash on eastbound I-4 that claimed the life of a 30-year-old Palm Coast man. Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) says the man, who was driving a 2014 Chevy Impala, was headed eastbound on I-4 just before 4:00 Friday (May 28) morning when he crashed into the rear of a 2017 Toyota Camry, driven by a 63-year-old Deltona woman. After colliding with the rear of the woman’s car, the Palm Coast man’s vehicle continued to travel until it was struck by a 20-year-old Asatula man driving a 2006 Hyundai Tucson. The Palm Coast man was ejected from his vehicle and was later pronounced dead on the scene. #TRAFFICALERT: All lanes of eastbound I-4 are closed for a fatal accident near Exit 104 for US-17/92There are also reports of a crash near Enterprise Rd on the EB side, and minor congestion near Exit 108 on the WB side. The remaining drivers, and a passenger in the deceased’s vehicle, suffered only minor injuries. To investigate the crash, troopers closed eastbound I-4 at Exit 104 in Seminole County and began to direct traffic off the highway. As of 8:00 a.m., the highway remains closed.
