Deputies Investigating Osteen Death, Suspect Vehicle Reportedly Involved In Shooting

Osteen, FL - The investigation into the death of a woman in Osteen continues as deputies say a suspect vehicle connected to the case was involved in a shooting in Sanford. The body of the deceased woman—who remains unidentified—was found by a passerby along the trail off Osteen Maytown Road around 7:00 Tuesday night (April 20). Investigators from the Volusia Sheriff’s Office (VSO) say the investigation into her death led to the identification of the suspect vehicle, which was spotted in Seminole County on Wednesday (April 21). According to VSO, that suspect vehicle was involved in a shooting incident in Sanford. No Volusia County deputies were involved in the shooting, but some are assisting in the investigation. It is not known at this time if any suspects or deputies were injured in the shooting. Per an email from VSO, Sheriff Mike Chitwood plans to brief reporters on Volusia’s aspect of the investigation on Wednesday afternoon.
