The Pierson Public Library is planning to hold a Trick or Treat Open House this Halloween, open to the entire community. The event will be taking place on Friday, October 31st (Halloween Day), from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Entry into the library is free of charge. In an announcement for the event released by the Volusia County government last week, it was specified that those wearing costumes to the library are asked to do so in a family-friendly manner. Those who attend can also receive a tour of the facility, which opened to the public in August. The Trick or Treat Open House will have arts and crafts, kids’ activities, ‘sweet treats’ to go around, and what organizers say is a ‘special green screen photo experience’. All who plan on participating in the green screen activity would be well-advised to leave their green-heavy attire at home, lest they be partially obscured in the final photo. The Pierson Public Library is located at 116 West First Ave, Building 6. The library is just south of the Pierson Municipal Airport on the west side of US-17.
