The Volusia Sheriff’s Office has arrested 38-year-old Jeffrey Crabtree in connection to a shooting that left one victim injured. Crabtree, a Port Orange resident, is accused of shooting a man in the leg. According to a report on the incident by the VSO, the shooting occurred at 2306 Old Samsung Road in Port Orange. Law enforcement was called shortly after midnight on Saturday. The victim, described as an adult male, was found with one gunshot wound to his leg. Fortunately the injuries were said to be non-life-threatening. The VSO says the shot came during an ongoing altercation. In their description of the incident the VSO did not clarify exactly how they determined that Crabtree was the suspected shooter. He was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, plus possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Booked into the Volusia County Branch Jail Saturday morning, Crabtree remains in custody without bond. Prior arrests of Crabtree in Volusia County include burglary, grand theft of a motor vehicle, leaving the scene of a crash with injury, fleeing or alluding, and various drug possession charges.
