Volusia County Transitioning To State Pre Registration System

DeLand, FL – Volusia County officials say residents will be able to use the state-wide pre-registration system, myvaccine.fl.gov beginning Monday, February 15. The state platform, Sharecare, is only used for state-run websites such as the one at the Volusia County Fairgrounds. To register for COVID-19 vaccine events at retail pharmacies, such as Publix, you will need to use their website. Volusia County and several other counties did not use Sharecare when it first opened on January 29 because they were not linked to the state’s website. Sharecare allows a person to preregister for vaccine appointments and be notified when appointments are available in their area. To preregister, individuals should visit myvaccine.fl.gov or call 866-201-7314. Pre-registration will get you a call when vaccine appointments become available.  This does not guarantee an appointment. You’ll need to wait until you receive an appointment date and time before reporting for a vaccine. Because of high demand and limited supply, you may still wait sometime before getting an appointment. Questions regarding preregistration and appointments should be directed to the state’s Volusia County helpline at 833-540-2077. At this time, the state-supported site at the Volusia County Fairgrounds is only vaccinating individuals 65 years of age and older. While individuals eligible for vaccines in Florida as outlined in Executive Order 20 – 315 may preregister on Sharecare, at this time only those 65 and up will be contacted for an appointment at the Fairgrounds. If someone does not meet these eligibility requirements, they will not be able to preregister but may sign up to receive email updates to learn when they may be eligible for the vaccine.
