Palm Coast, FL – Three men are now facing a collection of charges after Flagler County deputies tie them to a "K" section shooting that damaged a car and a home that had a pregnant woman inside of it at the time of the incident. The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) was called to the "K" section in Palm Coast Thursday night (January 28th) after receiving reports of multiple gunshots near Kalamazoo Trail. As deputies arrived, they located a silver Ford passenger car that matched the description of the vehicle involved in the incident. A felony traffic stop was conducted and five occupants were detained as three handguns were recovered. After detectives arrived to canvas the scene, investigators were able to locate video and audio segments from home surveillance systems in the area that showed the incident. According to FCSO’s report, the suspect vehicle can be seen approaching the "K" Section home around 6:48. Seconds later, gunshots began to ring out from the front and back passenger side of the car before the suspects left around a minute later. Both the house and a car parked outside were damaged by the gunshots. No one was injured, but a pregnant woman was inside of the home at the time of the incident, per a report from deputies. A witness statement says their cousin called and told them that they had been in an argument with a group of acquaintances. Without providing any further context as to what the argument was, the cousin warned the witness that the acquaintances wanted to come and fight. “Here we have grown men who think they can handle disagreements with gunfire. Two of them aren’t even from around here and they thought they could come here and commit a crime and get away with it,” Flagler Sheriff Rick Staly said. “They are lucky they did not injure anyone with this reckless and very dangerous behavior. Violence doesn’t solve problems, it only creates more problems." FCSO has since identified the suspects as 18-year-old Jamey Jahiem Bennet, 25-year-old Paul Philippe Pajotte, and 21-year-old Randy Alexandre. Two 16-year-old minors were with Bennet, Pajotte, and Alexandre at the time of the incident, but they were released at the scene to their parents. All three men will face charges for shooting at a dwelling while Pajotte faces additional charges for possession of a weapon by a convicted felon. Pajotte was also found to have an active warrant for his arrest in Orange County for violation of probation for identity fraud. All three men were denied bail. They remain in custody at Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility in Bunnell.
