Flagler County Takes Appointments For Vaccine – All Booked Within 10 Minutes

Bunnell, FL – The Florida Department of Health in Flagler County and Flagler County Emergency Management (FCEM) opened appointments for the COVID-19 vaccine today (January 4) at 1 p.m. and were booked for available doses within 10 minutes. The doses are intended for seniors ages 65 and older. Heath Officer Robert Snyder said that when more doses are received,  appointment scheduling will reopen. At this time, the vaccine is only available to those that have an appointment. When scheduling reopens, you would sign up online at flaglercounty.org then click on the COVID-19 link. Those without Internet access can call 386-313-4200. The best way to receive updates about COVID-19 vaccination appointment availability and testing, is to text "FlaglerCOVID" to 888-777. “The most efficient way to schedule an appointment will be through our website. Only if you do not have access to the Internet, do we suggest calling the call center between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday,” Emergency Management Director Jonathan Lord said. “Once all of the available doses are accounted for, we will stop accepting appointments. We will re-open the process after the Florida Department of Health-Flagler receives additional vaccine.” For those that have appointments for tomorrow, (January 5) the vaccinations will take place at the Flagler County Fairgrounds in Bunnell. Drivers are asked to arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before the scheduled appointment. Follow the prompts provided on site, and remain in their vehicles unless asked to leave them by staff. COVID-19 testing continues weekdays between 1:30 and 3 p.m. at the site across from 120 Airport Road.  These are not rapid tests and results are available in two to three days. No reservations are necessary. FCEM says there are places in the county to get tested, including two Mediquick locations, CentraCare and CVS Pharmacies. Most require appointments for testing so call ahead to confirm.
