Daytona Beach, FL – After careful review and an evaluation of community feedback, the Florida Department of Transportation says that the previously proposed roundabout at the intersection of International Speedway Boulevard and A-1-A is not going to happen. FDOT has determined that an enhanced traffic signal is the preferred alternative there. An FDOT spokesperson confirmed that decision was made last week and Daytona Beach Mayor Derrick Henry in a Facebook post said "They (FDOT) indicated that 90% of the plans would be available within one month." The plan for the project can be seen by going to the FDOT website. The next step is to update the design plan using the enhanced traffic signal option.
