DeLand, FL - There’s now a $5,000 reward for anyone who can help the Volusia Sheriff’s Office arrest and convict an 18-year-old male wanted in connection to two drive-by shootings. According to VSO, Kamari Elliott has warrants out for his arrest on two charges of attempted first-degree murder, robbery, accessory after the fact to a first-degree felony, and battery. “Turn yourself in now, or wait for us to pay you a surprise visit, but you’re going to jail either way,” Volusia Sheriff Mike Chitwood said. “To anyone helping Kamari play hide and seek with us, now is a good time to come forward and put some money in your pocket instead of harboring a fugitive.” Investigators say the two drive-by shootings Elliott is connected to stem from a late-September homicide in DeLand. Hours after the homicide was reported, and just a block away from the crime scene, a drive-by shooting occurred on South Clara Avenue. Reports from witnesses say two residents at separate homes were shot from a van that was supposedly carrying four to five people. Neither of the victims suffered life-threatening injuries. Then, almost a month later, two males were shot of South Delaware Avenue. The victims, aged 46 and 17, were taken by a private vehicle to the hospital. Their injuries were also considered non life-threatening. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged to contact the Volusia Sheriff’s Office Major Case Unit at 386-254-1537.
