Daytona Beach, FL - The latest findings from the state’s health officials say over 8.5 million people have been vaccinated for COVID-19 in Florida. According to data released by the Florida Department of Health on Sunday (April 25), out of the 8,512,825 total people that have been vaccinated, 5,758,162 people have completed their vaccine series—be it Pfizer, Moderna, or Johnson & Johnson/Janssen—while 2,754,663 have just received their first dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine. Of the 5,758,162 that have completed their series, 531,938 have received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine while 5,226,224 completed the Pfizer and Moderna series. In total, 13,739,049 doses of COVID-19 have been administered throughout the state. Seniors 65 and older remain the most vaccinated group in the state with 3,647,758 individuals. Out of all age groups in that demographic, the 65-74 bracket is the most vaccinated with 2,059,431 people. According to a county-by-county breakdown, 204,858 people have been vaccinated in Volusia County, while 50,128 have been vaccinated in Flagler. Out of the almost 205,000 people vaccinated in Volusia, 65,147 received their first dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, while 139,711 have completed either one of those series or received the J&J vaccine. In Flagler, 14,677 people have received their first dose, while 35,451 have completed their series.
