Two men from Brevard County are in custody after a road rage incident led to several shots being fired into a SUV carrying a couple and three children. Luckily, no one was hurt in the scary incident. Things reportedly started around Mims, a census-designated area in northern Brevard County. The victims of the shooting said they were driving east on SR-46 in their GMC Yukon, when they were tailgated by a black Dodge pickup truck. They said the truck passed them, cut them off, nearly ran them off the road, and then stopped in front of their vehicle. From here, two men are said to have exited the truck with guns. They began firing shots at the family’s SUV, with nine bullets reportedly striking it along with the front passenger window being shattered. At least a couple people who weren’t involved in the incident reportedly witnessed it, and provided their testimony to detectives. The men are then said to have gotten back in their truck and driven away. The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office was able to locate the truck after the family called 911, and conducted a traffic stop on it. From there they arrested both occupants, who turned out to be 45-year-old Cocoa resident Chad Morrow (the driver), and 52-year-old Port St. John resident Chad McAninch. Both Morrow and McAninch were charged with two counts of attempted murder plus three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. As of Tuesday they’re both being held at the Brevard County Jail on no bond. Morrow has prior bookings for battery and DUI among others.
