Dallas & Brenda Nashville Notes Mon June 19-Brad Paisley in the new “Cars 3” movie/WATCH: Shania Twain performs new songs on the Today Show

Brad Paisley wrote new music for the soundtrack of Cars 3, just as he’s done for the previous films in the animated series.

One of the reasons Brad loves being involved is because the movies become beloved parts of childhood for kids everywhere, including his own sons Huck and Jasper.

“Standing the test of time,” Brad reflects, “I have two kids that are absolute products of that. I mean they are Lightning McQueen fans and they’ve gotten to get to know [Cars director] John [Lasseter] and also that entire organization.”

The “Last Time for Everything” hitmaker admits it’s pretty gratifying that the men behind the films are fans of his, too.

“Brian Fee, the director of the new movie is also a huge guitar fan and a huge country fan and a fan of mine,” Brad says. “To be able to contribute to their world the way they contribute to mine, which is by giving us entertainment, is really fun.”

Brad contributes the instrumental tracks “Truckaroo” and “Thunder Hollow Breakdown” to the Cars 3 Original Motion Picture Soundtrack. The third installment of the animated series that centers around Owen Wilson’s Lightning McQueen is in theaters now.

If Shania Twain’s new single “Life’s About to Get Good” has you wanting more, you’re not the only one. Even the Canadian superstar admits September 29 seems like a long time to wait for her first new album in 15 years.

“It’s too far away! I’m so impatient!” she said Friday morning on NBC’s Today show.

In addition to the lead single from NOW, Shania also debuted another new song from her fifth studio album — titled “Swingin’” — on the show’s Rockefeller Plaza stage. She also treated the crowd to classic hits like “That Don’t Impress Me Much” and “Man, I Feel Like a Woman.”
