The Oklahoma Hall of Fame announced on Thursday that the singer will be inducted into the institution at a ceremony in Oklahoma City on November 16.
The event will be hosted by past inductees Vince Gill and Broadway star Kristin Chenoweth.
“I’ve always been proud to say I’m from Oklahoma,” said Carrie in a statement. “The people, culture, and environment molded me into the person I am today. It’s such an honor to be recognized among such great company by the Oklahoma Hall of Fame!”
In addition to the induction ceremony, Carrie will have her portrait added to the Gaylord-Pickens Museum, which houses the Oklahoma Hall of Fame.
It sounds like Thomas Rhett’s adopted daughter Willa Gray may be tailor-made to hit the road with dad.
After a 7,000-mile, 30-hour trip from Uganda last week, TR says the 18-month-old was nothing but excited.
“… Immediately, she got in my arms and was like, ‘Airplane!’” he tells People. “I thought, ‘Okay, you haven’t changed a bit and this isn’t fazing you at all!’” he says of the little one.
While Willa apparently loves taking to the skies, she’s not so sure about child restraints on the ground.
“As bad as it is, they don’t do the whole car seat thing in Uganda,” TR says. “She’s like, Why are these straps over my shoulders? Why am I being locked into this weird contraption?’”
This Saturday, the new dad plays Madison, Mississippi with Kenny Chesney and Jake Owen
Next week will be a busy one for Lady Antebellum, but they’ve found time to squeeze in a little dancing — Dancing with the Stars, that is.
The trio will perform their top-15 hit, “You Look Good,” Tuesday night as DWTS stars pros Witney Carson, Hayley Erbert, Artem Chigvintsev and Gleb Savchenko strut their stuff. You can catch the season finale Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
Wednesday, Lady A will also lend their talents to ABC. You can hear them singing the classic “Hey Baby” on the soundtrack for the Dirty Dancing remake, which starts at 8 p.m. ET.
Then the real work begins. On Friday, Hillary Scott, Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood set the You Look Good World Tour in motion in Bakersfield, California. Brett Young and Kelsea Ballerini will open.
It’s only a couple weeks until Chris Janson hits the road with Sam Hunt on the 15 in a 30 Tour, and the “Buy Me a Boat” hitmaker’s new EP won’t be far behind.
The 5-song Fix a Drink collection will be out June 9, with the full album expected before the end of the year.
This weekend, the video for the title track premieres on CMT Hot 20. Shot at Chris’s rural Tennessee cabin, the clip promises a big party and plenty of special guests.
“We had a ball,” Chris says. “My good buddies took the time to be in it, and that meant the world to me.”
Chris makes his way to Daytona Beach Memorial Day weekend for the Country 500 and you can bet that “Fix a Drink” will be on the setllist. More info on the show and tickets here: www.Country500.com
